The GENON 87 door handle builds on a design from around 1910 and later appeared in our 1930 catalogue. Originally, we produced it for Bispebjerg Hospital in 1914 at the request of architect Martin Nyrop. Today, however, the GENON 87 brass door handle on a modern rosette brings this historic design beautifully into contemporary homes.

In 2010, designer Christoffer Harlang reinterpreted the Genon in collaboration with Søe-Jensen. Harlang, who is known for his work with Skagerak, Carlsberg, and others, helped give the classic design a fresh expression. At the same time, they carefully preserved its original character.

Because of its clean and understated look, the GENON 87 suits many interior styles. In particular, it works especially well when paired with a modern rosette.

The manufacture of the door handle

We make the Genon lever from high-quality brass with a high copper content. In addition, you can choose between brass, chrome, or nickel, depending on the finish that best matches your home.

At our European workshop, each handle is sand-cast and then polished to a high shine. Furthermore, we inspect every piece carefully to ensure flawless quality. Consequently, the GENON 87 brass door handle is not only elegant, but also a dependable choice for everyday use.

Since the brass is unlacquered, it is easy to maintain its shine. Over time, however, it also develops a natural patina, which adds even more character. Therefore, each GENON 87 brass door handle on a modern rosette gains a unique appearance as it ages.

If you appreciate simple and minimalist design, then the Genon is an excellent choice. To complete the look, we recommend pairing it with a rosette from the SJC Classic series or, alternatively, an Eskan escutcheon plate.
